Risk disclosure
The risks of trading and of automated strategies, and what QuantInsta is and is not.

Please read this before you run any strategy against a live broker account.
Trading involves risk of loss
Trading in equities, futures and options can lose money, and leveraged products such as futures and options can lose more than your initial margin. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
Not investment advice
QuantInsta is a software tool. We are not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, research analyst or stockbroker. Nothing on this website or in the app, including strategy templates, examples, documentation and backtest results, is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. You decide what to trade and you are responsible for those decisions.
Backtests and paper trading are not predictions
Backtests apply a strategy to historical data. They can't fully reflect slippage, partial fills, brokerage, taxes, liquidity, gaps or market impact, and a strategy can fit past data well purely by chance. Paper trading uses live prices but simulated fills. Past or simulated performance does not guarantee future results.
Risks specific to automated trading
- A strategy does exactly what its rules say, including when the rules are wrong. A logic error can place many orders quickly.
- Orders can be delayed, rejected or duplicated because of internet, broker, exchange or platform problems.
- Market data can be delayed, missing or incorrect.
- Broker sessions and access tokens can expire, stopping a strategy from placing or exiting trades.
Monitor live strategies, start with small quantities, use your broker's risk controls, and know how to square off positions directly with your broker.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for every order placed in your broker account, for meeting margin requirements, and for complying with SEBI and exchange rules. Brokerage, taxes and other charges are payable to your broker and the government.
